NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed additional cases of COVID-19 across the state on Friday, April 10.
The update brings the total number of positive cases in the state to 4,862. The state’s health department also confirmed four additional deaths.
The latest number of hospitalizations is 536. A note on the department’s website states this total is an indication of the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness and not an indication of the number of patients currently hospitalized.

Metro Public Health Department officials reported 1,224 cases of COVID-19 in Davidson County Friday morning, a difference of 176 cases.
The latest update from Metro shows seven fewer cases than what was reported on Thursday. During the department’s April 9 briefing, officials acknowledged a technical issue with the reporting system. On Friday, Dr. Alex Jahangir, head of the Metro Coronavirus Task Force, explained what caused the change, “After further analysis, we noticed that the total number of cases had to be adjusted as some of the numbers I provided you with yesterday were from surrounding counties.”
Recoveries and Negative Cases
Out of the confirmed 4,634 positive cases, 1,145 have recovered.
Tennessee has conducted 62,799 tests across the state with 57,937 negative cases.
